Trash

Trash pick up in the Ellis is every Tuesday and Friday. Garbage should be placed on the curb no earlier than 5PM the evening prior to and no later than 7AM the day of pickup. Recycling in the Ellis is only on Tuesdays. To obtain blue recycle bins call 617-635-4959 or . The City also provides recycling for paint, motor oil, and yard waste like leaves and clippings. Street Cleaning/Sweeping

The City of Boston sweeps neighborhood streets on a regular schedule from April 1st to November 30th. Ellis street cleaning occurs every Wednesday on alternate sides of every street except Berkeley and Tremont Streets, which are swept every Monday. Street Sweeping days and times are clearly marked on each street with signs. Failure to move you car on street sweeping day will result in a ticket and your car may also be towed.

Snow Removal

Once snow starts if you are a commercial or large residential property (six-plus units) owner, manager or renter you have 3 hours to remove snow from the sidewalks. If you are a residential property owner (less than 6 units), manager or renter you have 6 hours to remove snow from the sidewalks. Snow removal should cover a full paved width of the sidewalk or a minimum or 42 inches wide. Failure to remove snow will result in a fine of anywhere from $50 to $150 and, each day that a violation exists will be treated as a separate and distinct violation and will be subject to a fine per day.

100 Clarendon Street Garage is extending favorable parking programs to all Ellis residents. Evening parking special “Ellis” rates are as follows: If you pre-pay for four months of evening parking, you get a 5th month free, equal to an average of $88 per month. Also, during City-declared snow emergencies, all Ellis residents can park for $12 per 24 hour period. The car owner needs to leave the garage shortly after the end of the emergency period.
