Fyodor Dostoyevsky, Notes from Underground, 143 pages. (Imaginary author’s diary while in prison and his thoughts on existence, morality and society. Second fragment explores actual events in his life.)

Mark Haddon, Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time, 240 pages. (Debut novel/who-done-it as told by an autistic 15 year old detective. Funny, too.)

Cormac McCarthy, The Road, 241 pages. (A father and son fight their way through a post apocalyptic world reduced to ashes and ruin.)
March 19th ―
Irene Nemirovsky, Suite Francaise, 395 pages. (Two novellas: the second a factual account of the origins of the first. Materials recently found by the daughter of the author, who died in Auschwitz.)
