Compassionate Organics (CO) wishes to open a Registered Marijuana Dispensary (RMD) at 633 Tremont Street in Boston’s South End neighborhood

- Patients must have a recommendation from their doctor and must register with the Department of Public Health in order to even enter the dispensary.
- Qualifying conditions include: Cancer, Glaucoma, HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis C, ALS, Crohn's disease, Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis, or any other debilitating condition as determined by a physician
- Based on industry data, the average age of a medical marijuana patient is 40+ years old
- Nearly 85% of medical marijuana patients have some form of higher education — nearly 15% hold a postgraduate degree — and roughly 45% of patients are parents
- CO’s founder grew up in Back Bay and uses medical marijuana to treat symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis
- CO’s founder currently lives in the Back Bay, and his family continues to live in the area as well
- CO is the only LOCAL medical marijuana operator in the city of Boston
- CO is required by the State to ONLY sell what we grow ourselves. Not 3rd party providers.
- Proposed hours of operation: 10AM – 8PM, 7 days per week
- Consumption of any products on the premises or in public space near or surrounding the facility is strictly prohibited
- Advertisements, displays, or graphics depicting marijuana may NOT be displayed on the exterior of the facility or visible through windows
- Validated parking at a nearby garage will be offered for all patients
- Property is fully ADA compliant as required by State law
- 24/7 CCTV monitoring will be utilized throughout the facility and at all points of egress
- CO has secured armored truck services and full retail banking through Century Bank
- Boston Zoning provides a 0.5 mile “buffer zone” which prohibits dispensaries, medical or recreational, from locating within 0.5 miles from one another
- CO will commit time and resources toward neighborhood safety and betterment programs
