Administrative Coordinator to support the work of our volunteer board and committees. The candidate should have excellent organizational skills, be self-directed and pro-active, have the ability to work well The Ellis Neighborhood Association is a not-for-profit corporation organized for the purpose of enhancing the quality of life within the Ellis neighborhood in the South End of Boston. We are seeking an with diverse groups and enjoy working with volunteers and residents. This is a part-time, remote position of approximately 20 hours per week with occasional evenings and weekends at various sites in Boston’s South End.
Duties include:
● Act as the first point of contact for the association via phone and email; help direct resident concerns and complaints about quality of life issues
● Liaise with City of Boston and other community groups as point person for the Ellis neighborhood. Keep informed of city programs and opportunities to enhance life in the area and disseminate appropriately to members.
● With input from the membership committee implement new member events, conduct membership drives and collect dues. Maintain member database and compile membership reports
● Manage member and marketing communications, including sending group emails, meeting and event invitations, and Constant Contact newsletter.
● Regularly update social media accounts including Facebook and Instagram.
● Keep association website up-to-date. Post meeting minutes and events in timely manner.
● Support volunteers with neighborhood event planning. Communicate event information to
members, track attendance, collect fees and pay vendors.
● Manage Zoom account to set up volunteer meetings as requested by volunteers.
● Arrange locations, assist with guest speakers, distribute announcements and agendas for monthly
board and open membership meetings
● Assist outside vendor with bookkeeping functions as needed.
● Attend monthly board and association meetings.
Required qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree
● Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and Google Docs
● Proficiency and familiarity with technology and online platforms
● Desire to learn
● Excellent organizational skills
● Outgoing and helpful disposition
● Access to computer, printer and internet
● Time flexibility (occasional evening and weekend work)

● Experience with e-mail management programs (i.e. Constant Contact)
● Experience with social media management
