
Back Bay/South End Gateway Project Meeting - July 13th - 8:00 AM
This project affects us all and will permanently change our neighborhood. We will strive to keep you informed so we can all be involved in this vital process. The meetings are open to the public. Boston Common Hotel & Conference Center, Room 201, 40 Trinity Place, Boston, MA 02116.
The Back Bay/South End Gateway Project Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) is made up of residents, business owners, community organizations, and professionals. Mayor Martin J. Walsh appointed the CAC in April of 2016 to review and guide the proposed development by Boston Properties at the project site. The CAC will be responsible for assisting the BRA with review of development scenarios, urban design, transportation impacts, and mitigation during the Article 80 review process. All CAC meetings are open to the public.

7th Annual Wine Tasting & Jazz Concert - May 2nd 6:00PM
The Ellis South End Neighborhood Association is pleased to announce our Seventh Wine Tasting & Jazz Concert with our good friends at Berklee College of Music. We taste “Jazzy Wines” (chosen to match various jazz styles): big band, fusion, straight ahead, bebop, etc. (Think of something sparkling to go with a big band swing dance number.) They will be paired with a selection of appropriate jazzy cheeses, pates and fruit chosen to complement these wines. Following the wine tasting Berklee has invited us to join the “Berklee Concert Jazz Orchestra” performance held downstairs at the Berklee Performance Center. Progressive Dinner - February 8th 5:30PM
The Ellis held its 11th Annual Progressive Dinner on February 8th. It’s a marvelous way to meet new neighbors and sample gourmet offerings from our neighborhood restaurants. Make sure you attend next year.

Political Forum - January 26th 7:00PM at the Calderwood Pavilion
The Ellis South End Neighborhood Association hosted an evening with Senator Sonia Chang-Diaz, State Representatives Aaron Michlewitz and Byron Rushing and Boston City Councilor Bill Linehan at the Calderwood Pavilion located at 527 Tremont. The forum gave constituents an opportunity to hear from their elected officials regarding legislative updates, plans for economic development, education, safety in our neighborhood ending with a Q & A.

Ellis members enjoyed a festive evening at Tremont 647 to celebrate the holiday season with cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and great company.

Holiday Tree Lighting - December 5th, 3:30 - 5:30 PM
The Ellis South End Neighborhood Association welcomed Mayor Walsh on his Enchanted Trolley Tour! There was music, crafts for the kids, coffee, cider, pizza and more as we helped kick off that most wonderful time of the year with the lighting of the South End Holiday Tree!

Chandler Street Halloween Party for Kids, October 30th, 4:30-6:30 PM
Tadpole and the Ellis South End Neighborhood Association sponsored the Chandler Street Halloween Party on October 30th on Chandler Street at the corner of Clarendon Street. Little ones dressed up for a great night with treats, live music, bouncy house and face painting.

Members from the Ellis participated in a private, hands-on cooking and dining evening at Sur La Table on October 28th. The evening was filled with a delicious meal cooked by the attendees along with some fine wine and cooking instruction. Stay tuned for our next one in January.

The Ellis hosted their Young Professional Group (YPG) kick-off on October 28th. Over 50 local young professionals attended the reception to learn about Boston's newest YPG and who are looking to build relationships, develop professionally and become politically and philanthropically active in the community. South End Yard Sale
A community yard sale sponsored by the Ellis South End Neighborhood Association was held on Saturday, September 19. Under sunny skies, hundreds of neighbors attended to sell their own wares or to peruse and buy from the Ellis tables of donations. It was a great day - watch for it next year!

Boston Shines 2015
Ellis friends and neighbors came out in full force to get coffee and doughnuts and to pitch in and help clean up the neighborhood and ready it for spring. Rakes, brooms and mulch were provided by the City and put to good use.
