STREET CLEANING AND SWEEPING 

The City of Boston sweeps neighborhood streets on a regular schedule; the schedule can vary by neighborhood. Always read signs carefully. In Ellis, street cleaning typically begins March 1st and runs through December 31st. For most streets, Ellis street cleaning occurs every Wednesday on alternate sides of every street. However, some streets are cleaned on different days, such  , which occurs every Friday.

Failure to move your car on street cleaning day will result in a ticket and your car may also be towed. The tow trucks are usually at the ready!! City holidays, snow, and other events can cancel or postpone street cleaning. Watch for announcements and beware.
